Registered Massage Therapist 

We are recruiting a superstar Registered Massage Therpaist to work at Kulhay Wellness Centre in Erin, Ontario. The position is for a maternity leave coverage (could lead into full-time) to work all or some of Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays + weekends also available. We are flexible with scheduling based on our therapist's availability and work-life balance.

We have patient loads for 2 full-time RMTs whom are currently on leaves (maternity and personal) and our PATIENTS REALLY WANT MASSAGES! 

​

CLINICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

A Massage Therapist is responsible for helping patients to (1) recover from injuries and/or (2) deal with chronic pain and/or (3) achieve relaxation & stress reduction. Some of the clinical skills required  include:

• Knead and massage muscles and soft tissue;

• Assess the root cause of pain;

• Utilize a wide range of hands-on techniques to reduce pain;

• Keep excellent records of patient health and treatment options in our system Jane;

• Explain the causes of pain to each patient clearly and properly explain how to complete strengthening exercises at home;

• Increase a patient’s range of motion;

• Work with or contact other health care providers as needed to ensure the patient receives the best quality care;

• Promote relaxation for clients to ensure the maximum benefit of the massage

• Assessing, reassessing, and treating patients - own/lead their care plans with the collaboration of the team to ensure the best patient outcomes;

• Emailing/calling past patients to check in, ask about injuries, sending exercise/stretch video links to be helpful, while letting people know you are here; and

• Leading by example, referring to fellow healthcare practitioners at the clinic or locally.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Complete detailed assessments and histories of patients, including concerns, specific stresses, injuries, and conditions;

• Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans, including specific treatment areas, treatment frequency, and massage type;

• Work in collaboration with our multidisciplinary practitioners, including Dr. Kulhay, utilizing her X-ray facility and 40+ years of patient care and knowledge.

• Blogs/posts - great candidates will have the inclination to work with our Marketing Manager to create helpful content for our communications channels and educate people on the benefits of massage therapy, and participate in promotional/community events for the clinic;

• A team player and advocates for the patient’s wellness through other services provided at the clinic like physiotherapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, holistic nutrition, and osteopathy;

• Refer patients to other practitioners when appropriate and necessary to treat additional symptoms; and

• Maintain accurate and complete clinical records for each client in the digital clinical management system called Jane.

REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Massage Therapist only: Registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and has valid Professional Liability Insurance;

• Valid CPR and First Aid maintained throughout employment;

• Experienced in multiple forms of massage;

• Strong oral/verbal communication and interpersonal skills between patients and practitioners;

• Must maintain their own point of sale system (i.e. Square, Jane Payments) and remit monthly commissions to the clinic; and

• Exhibits professionalism and commitment to treatment with integrity, honesty, and loving care.
