Individual Therapy 

Whether it's an ongoing struggle or an unexpected disruption, counselling can be a valuable service in gaining new insights and skills.  People seek counselling for a variety of reasons including:

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Problematic substance use

  • Stress management

  • Life transitions such as changes in one's family, career or health

 

Both short and long term counselling services are provided and tailored to the unique needs of the individual.  Counselling can focus on specific goals or skills, while others benefit from longer term, insight oriented therapy.  In Social Work we often speak about "starting where the client is at" which emphasizes the importance of working collaboratively to address your goals and desire for change.  


Child & Adolescent Therapy

Our children and youth are not immune to stress, mental health issues, trauma and loss.  This is a painful reality for many families who are struggling with how to best support their children in the face of such challenges.  Individual and family counselling is available to address issues such as:

  • Anxiety (separation anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, OCD, generalized anxiety and panic attacks)

  • Depression (including self-harm and suicidal ideation)

  • ADD/ADHD

  • adjustment to divorce and separation

Our counsellor has extensive experience in the field of Child & Adolescent mental health and is skilled in providing both individual and family therapy for children and youth.  Services are tailored to the unique needs of each family and can be a combination of both individual and parent sessions.
