Shawn Meirovici, B.A., N.D.
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Before pursuing his career in naturopathic medicine, Shawn was involved in the field of environmental restoration. Working alongside experts in local botany, Shawn began his education on the medicinal properties of plants and mushrooms. During this time Shawn was also undergoing training in Kung Fu, and discovered the philosophy and benefit of traditional Chinese medicine after being treated with acupuncture by his instructor.
These experiences, combined with a degree in philosophy led Shawn toward the pursuit of specialized training in a model of health care that would incorporate a variety of conventional and alternative approaches to medicine.
After completing the four-year naturopathic doctor program at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Shawn continued to undergo training in the use of mesotherapy, parenteral therapy and dermal fillers.
Shawn also continued to pursue his passion for the natural environment by creating the website www.chefnd.com. On this website Shawn writes monthly articles highlighting the most current research on the medicinal properties of seasonally available foods.
Shawn is licensed through the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy-Naturopathy (BDDT-N), is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), is a Healthy and Active Metabolism Program practitioner, and is an active Toronto musician, who can, from time to time, be found playing guitar at a local pub.
